How Shipping and Delivery Work When You Order an Aluminum Fence

Ordering a fence online isn’t like buying a book off of Amazon. It’s a big-box checkout and those tend to come with a lot of questions. How long will my fence take to ship? Do I have to be home to sign for the delivery? What happens if I want to change my order after I place it? What do I do if something’s missing or was damaged in transit?

Here’s exactly what happens between your order confirmation and your fence landing in the driveway.

How long will my fence take to ship?

Our fences take about 2-3 weeks to ship to your property. If your order requires more time, then we will email you so it’s not a surprise.

Shipping times can vary. For example, our residential-grade black aluminum fence comes in 10 different panel styles. Popular styles like the Floridian and Sierra typically ship in 1–2 weeks, plus 2–3 days transit. While styles such as the Outback, Carolina, Appalachian, and Manhattan generally ship in 2–3 weeks.

Commercial-grade fencing normally takes about 3 weeks. However, commercial-grade fencing colored bronze or white might take 4 weeks instead.

Do I have to be home to sign for the fence delivery?

Yes, someone does have to be home to sign for the fence delivery. Once your order is confirmed we will receive a tracking number, along with updates, so you can plan around it.

Freight trucks usually deliver the pallets to the base of your driveway. So your property needs to be tractor-trailer accessible. We highly recommend clearing a path for a tractor-trailer so they can reach your driveway. You might also want to move your car(s) out of the driveway so you’re not blocked in.

Do you ship to Hawaii or Alaska?

Unfortunately, we cannot ship fences to Hawaii or Alaska. We can ship to anywhere within the continental United States.

How much does shipping an aluminum fence cost?

The cost of shipping an aluminum fence varies based on your order and location. For example, states west of Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Illinois may carry a bit more in freight. They are further away from our disruption center, which is located on the east coast.

However, when you contact us for an estimate, we will factor in the shipping costs.

What happens if I want to change my fence order after I place it?

If you need to change or cancel your order for any reason, you can do so within 24-48 hours after placement.

When you order from us, we manufacture your specific materials. Once the manufacturing process is started, we can’t stop it. That’s why all change orders are subject to a 20% fee.

However, we will work with you before you order to double-check everything.

What do I do if a part of my fence order is missing or was damaged in transit?

If you report any shipping error within 5 business days, we can send you replacement materials at no cost. Just contact us with your problem and we will move to resolve it.

Missing or damaged parts are the exception for us, not the norm. But nonetheless, mistakes happen. A past client, Ryan L., ordered aluminum fencing for his home in Tyler, Texas. But one panel was damaged while in transit. As he explains:

“I had an issue with the condition that one of the panels arrived in after transit, and they replaced it promptly for me without question.”

Ready to secure your home?

Once you know what to expect on delivery day, ordering stops feeling like a leap of faith. If you’ve already measured your fence line, request a quote and we’ll walk the rest of the way with you.
