How will Tariffs affect YOUR aluminum fencing?

You’ve probably heard a lot of news about tariffs and trade tensions. Lucky for you, our aluminum fencing is American-made!

But what does that actually mean for you? How does American-made fencing help protect your property? We all want to make smart, lasting investments for our families.

Let’s not get overwhelmed by trade war headlines. Instead, let’s focus on your backyard. Let’s unpack what tariffs mean for your aluminum fencing project. And let’s explain why the source of our materials matters.

Quick Disclaimer.
A lot can happen between the writing of this blog and when it’s published. At the time of writing, May 1st, 2025, the United States has confirmed sweeping 10% tariffs on all its trade partners.

But new agreements might have been made now and by the time you read this. So, who knows? Anything could happen!

First, What Are Tariffs, and Why Do They Matter?

Tariffs are essentially taxes imposed on imported goods. When the government places a tariff on aluminum, it raises the price of aluminum sourced from outside the U.S.

If an import usually costs $100, but there’s a 10% tariff, it now costs $110 to import that good.

On February 11th, 2025, the white house reinstated a tariff from Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962. This tariff originally set a 10% tariff on steel and aluminum imports. However, it is now set to 25%.

A manufacturer who relies on imported aluminum will now have to pay an additional 25%. Most manufacturers pass on those increased prices to you, the consumer.

But not all fencing is created equal…

We are proud to source our products domestically!

Since our inception, we’ve been a strong advocate for American-made products. We exclusively partner with U.S. manufacturers who use 100% American-made aluminum. Our “Made-In-America” policy extends to the powder coating process as well. Powder coatings are additional layers of protection on your fence.

Some companies claim to be “made in the USA.” But in reality, they source all their raw materials from overseas and only do the final assembly here. This might be cheaper for them, but it leads to lower quality.

It’s harder to quality control products when the manufacturer is halfway across the world. This can also lead to inconsistencies in quality. For example, a different aluminum fencer wholesaler might use American-made screws on low-quality aluminum. That’ll make for a fence that stays together but will buckle or bend easily.

We partner with American manufacturers for their quality.

We only partner with vendors we can trust. Because we know you want a fence that you can trust. So, we use high-quality 6005-T5 aluminum—an alloy known for its strength, durability, and resistance.

Our aluminum fences can withstand wind speeds of 115 miles per hour. A category two hurricane has winds of 96 – 110 mph! It can also withstand decades of use with minimal maintenance. Compare that to a wooden fence that needs frequent maintenance and lasts only 10-15 years.

So, will tariffs raise the price of my new Aluminum Fence?

Here’s the honest answer: yes, but not by as much as you might think.

Yes, our fences are made in America, so we won’t be directly impacted by tariffs. However, no supply chain exists in a vacuum. What about all of the packaging materials? What about the electronics in the solar-powered light caps? Or even the trucks used to deliver these products?

We use domestic products as much as we can. But every supply chain is interwoven with international trade. So yes, some costs might trickle down to you. But thanks to our U.S.-based production model, your fence is still likely to be more stable in price and higher in quality than many alternatives.

The Bottom Line: You’re still getting a premium, durable aluminum fence—without the tariff drama.

Aluminum fencing is an investment in your home and peace of mind. Choosing a fence built with American-made materials is a smart move—both for quality and cost predictability.
